Wazir-1 Becomes the Most Expensive Plate

The highest bid of the auction was recorded for the number plate Wazir-1. This plate was sold for Rs. 1.5 crore, making it the most expensive vehicle number plate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so far. The name “Wazir” carries strong influence and respect in the region. Many buyers see such plates as a symbol of power rather than just a registration number.

Afridi-1 and Khan-1 Attract Huge Bids

Afridi-1 was the second most expensive plate in the auction and was sold for Rs. 1.40 crore 50 lakh. The Afridi name is widely known and holds cultural importance, which increased its demand. Khan-1 also attracted strong competition and was sold for Rs. 1.11 crore. The surname Khan is associated with leadership and honor, making this plate highly desirable among bidders.

Peshawar-1 Crosses the One Crore Mark

Another major highlight of the auction was Peshawar-1. This plate was sold for Rs. 1 crore. City-based number plates are popular because they show pride in one’s hometown. Peshawar is a historic and cultural city, and owning a plate with its name adds emotional and symbolic value for buyers.

Strong Demand for Mid-Range Name Plates

Several other number plates were sold at impressive prices during the auction. Haripur-1 was sold for Rs. 80 lakh, showing rising interest in district-based plates. Yusufzai-1 fetched Rs. 49 lakh due to the historical and tribal importance of the name. Durrani-1 was sold for Rs. 16.6 lakh, which was still much higher than the base price.

Lower-Priced Plates Still Perform Well

Some number plates were sold close to the starting price but still showed good demand. Swabi-1 and Malakand-1 were sold for Rs. 12 lakh each. DI Khan-1 was auctioned for Rs. 11 lakh, while Gandapur-1 was sold for Rs. 10.8 lakh. The base price for all plates was set at Rs. 10 lakh, and every plate sold above this amount, which shows strong public interest.

Plates Excluded from This Auction

The Excise and Taxation Department confirmed that two popular number plates linked to former Prime Minister Imran Khan were not included in this auction. These plates were “Imran Khan-1” and “Imran Khan-804.” Officials did not share detailed reasons for their exclusion, but many believe these plates may be auctioned in a future round.

Why These Auctions Matter for KP

Premium number plate auctions are not only about luxury and status. They also help the provincial government generate revenue. The money collected from these auctions can be used for development projects, public services, and infrastructure improvements. Because interest in personalized plates is growing, future auctions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to attract even higher bids.

Conclusion

The KP vehicle number plate auction proved the rising value of premium and personalized plates. Record-breaking bids showed strong public interest and trust in the system. These auctions not only reflect status and identity but also help the province generate revenue for development and public welfare projects.
